Did you or a loved one develop life threatening complications caused by the inferior vena cava filter (IVC filter)?

You may be entitled to significant financial compensation.

IVC filters are designed to reduce the risk of blood clots in people who are unable to take blood thinners.  However, many lawsuits claim the filters broke, moved or punctured veins, leading to serious health conplications.

As of July 2019, more than 14,000 lawsuits have been filed against two IVC Filter mmanufacturers.

What is an IVC Filter?

An inferior vena cava (IVC) filter is a small device that can stop blood clots from going up into the lungs. The inferior vena cava is a large vein in the middle of your body. The device is put in during a short surgery.

You might need an IVC filter if you have a DVT (deep vein thrombosis) or pulmonary embolism, or have had either of these in the past. You might need an IVC filter if you have a high risk of getting a DVT. Anything that slows the movement of blood through your veins increases your risk of DVT.
